LVP stands for luxury vinyl plank, which is part of the family of luxury vinyl flooring (LVF).  Like its first generation, standard vinyl, this is praised for ease of cleaning and maintenance.

The luxury version is also highly regarded for style and affordability. Since it mimics natural materials, you can have the marble bath, wood floor, or bold, vibrant colorful tiled playrooms.

You won’t pay nearly the same prices as those materials, however.

LVP also comes with embossing features to give it depth, dimension, and a textured appearance such as wire brushing, hand scraping, and more.

You’ll be pleasantly shocked when you walk into a store and see all the LVP flooring variety.

LVP
floors are durable, waterproof, and when taken care of properly, will last a long time. This flooring is often recommended as one of the most kid or pet-friendly ones.

Always be sure to ask your flooring retailer about the best products to use on LVP. Meanwhile, here are some simple things you can do to keep the floors looking great.

Sweep often

Use a soft broom or dry mop daily, if possible.  Here's why you want to do it:  Soil and dirt act like sandpaper, and when embedded, will scratch any flooring, even LVP.

It is a layered product with the top sheet being a clear plastic protective covering that guards against scratches and scuffs but, like anything, the better the maintenance and cleaning, the better your LVP will look.

While you're at it, use a doormat.  You can't see it, but dirt, soil, and chemicals can be brought in on the soles of your shoes.

It should also be noted that left unattended, accumulated dirt can eventually cause the floor to yellow.

No wax does mean no wax

A shine polish can have the exact opposite effect of what you want.  It can dull and discolor the floor.

If your floor does lose its shine call us for advice on polishing or sealing it.

Other than that, use a mild cleaner, since well and if you move furniture, be sure to use protective furniture feet.
